Torni’s Ateljee Bar was founded in 1951. After years of popular service the scenic spot underwent a facelift in the spring of 2008: direct electric heating
was installed and triple glazing was added to its long side windows. Mauno Manninen, the fiery-souled director of the Intiimiteatteri theatre company, gave the idea when he
exclaimed: “What a wonderful atelier!”
Although the escalier that leads to the Ateljee Bar is steep, it isn’t hard to find the motivation to climb it. When you reach the bar,
you’ll be sitting above the rooftops of the city, enjoying cocktails higher up than anywhere else in Helsinki. A fresh breath of sea air adds its twist to the drinks!
The bar’s second role is to offer enjoyment to the eyes and the soul - changing exhibitions refresh its atmosphere every month. Ateljee has offered
exhibition space for young and talented artists since 1951.
The Ateljee Bar is a classic above it all, the most original choice for the first drink of the evening.
In 2008, the Ateljee Bar ranked highly in the Best Bars 2008 survey by the Viisi tähteä (Five stars) trade magazine.
